Introduction

IBTIX is committed to safeguarding the privacy of our users while providing the highest possible quality of service. Under the terms of the Data Protection legislation we are required to explain to you how we will treat any personal and/or private data which we collect from you.

IBTIX Statement of Principles

IBTIX has been created to help enterprise development organizations and trade development agencies support their businesses and to help those businesses, enterprise support agencies and other site members (henceforth Members) to connect and interact.

IBTIX has been built to foster and support the exchange of knowledge and help Members of our community grow and strengthen their businesses and organizations. Members are responsible for their own profiles and can adjust their privacy settings to limit the information displayed in their profile. The site has been created for Member's use on the understanding that Members will employ good business practices and common sense in using the resource.

Members post user content on the IBTIX site at their own risk. Although you have the ability to set privacy options that limit access to your pages, security systems can be breached. We cannot control the actions of other users with whom you may choose to share your pages and information. We cannot and do not guarantee therefore that user content you post on the IBTIX site will not be viewed by unauthorized persons. We are not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures contained on the IBTIX site. Members understand and acknowledge that, even after removal, copies of user content may remain viewable in cached and archived pages or if other IBTIX users have copied or stored your user content.

IBTIX has been created to help Members connect and interact with each other. We do not encourage the display or sharing of business confidential information on or through this portal and we take no responsibility for Member profile content or Member site usage.

Any improper collection or misuse of information provided on IBTIX is a violation of the IBTIX Terms of Conditions of use and should be reported through the 'contact us' link on the IBTIX home page.

In this privacy policy references to we, us and our are to IBTIX. References to our Website or the Website are to www.ibtix.com.

What information we collect and how

When you visit IBTIX you provide us with various types of information: information on your company or organization that you knowingly and willingly choose to disclose. You also provide IBTIX site use information that is collected by us as you interact with our Web Site.

The information we collect via the Website may include.

  1. Details on your company or organization that you knowingly and willingly provide us with through forms and through our email, such as organization name, organization profile, address, telephone number, personal contact details, etc.
  2. Your preferences and use of email updates, recorded by emails we send you (if you select to receive email updates on services offered).
  3. Your IP Address, this is a string of numbers unique to your computer that is recorded by our web server when you request any page or component on the Website. This information is used to monitor your usage of the Website and is gathered for all IBTIX visitors.
  4. Data recorded by the Website which allows us to recognise you and your preferred settings, this saves you from re-entering information on return visits to the site. Such data is recorded locally on your computer through the use of cookies. By using IBTIX, you are consenting to have your data transferred to and processed by IBTIX.

What we do with your information

When you register with IBTIX on behalf of your organization, you are responsible for creating your own profile and privacy settings. Your profile information, as well as contact details and any information downloads you choose to accompany your organization's profile, are displayed to other organizations in the IBTIX networks in accordance with your privacy and profile settings. This is done to allow your organization to connect with other Members. We may occasionally use your name, your organization's name and email address to send you notifications about IBTIX that we consider might be valuable or of interest to you.

Members have the facility to edit and update their profile on IBTIX and can do this by logging into their account.

IBTIX may use information in your profile (e.g. your 'business sector') without identifying you as an individual or your organization to third parties. By way of illustration, we use tracking technology to get information on what geographic markets Members in IBTIX are focusing on. This allows us to lobby for service support on the collective behalf of Members and tailor support services to meet these interests and needs. These tools and efforts are designed to benefit IBTIX Members.

Occasionally we may survey Members to solicit views, opinion and feedback. This information is never shared with others in a way that would identify you or your organization to a third party.

IBTIX - Your Information and Third Parties

IBTIX website architecture and your selected privacy settings allow you to make decisions about who has access to your organization's information. We do not provide contact information to third parties without your specific permission. We also share your information with third parties only in limited circumstances and only where it is considered necessary to deliver IBTIX services to you, is required by law or is permitted by you. Here are some illustrations:

  • IBTIX may provide information to support service providers to help us bring you our services. Where we are required to use third parties for the processing of any information on site, we work to contractual and technical agreements limiting the use of that information to the specific purposes outlined by IBTIX.
  • We occasionally create demonstration accounts that allow non-users an overview of IBTIX. Such accounts have very limited capabilities and passwords are changed regularly to limit possible misuse.
  • We may be required to disclose Member information pursuant to lawful requests or in compliance with applicable laws.
  • Members are given the opportunity to choose whether they wish their organization's information to be shared with marketers or electronic commerce providers through on-site offers.
  • Should the ownership of IBTIX change, your user information may be transferred to the new owner so the service level and provisions can be maintained. In any such transfer of ownership and information, your organization's user information would continue to reflect the commitments made in any pre-existing Privacy Policy.

IBTIX and Links to Other Sites

IBTIX may contain links to other websites. IBTIX cannot be held responsible for the privacy practices of other web sites. Members are encouraged when they link to another site - and leave the IBTIX site - to read the privacy policy statements of every website that collects personal, corporate or other identifiable information. The Privacy Policy outlined here applies only to information collected by IBTIX.

IBTIX and Third Party Advertising

Advertisements that appear on IBTIX are sometimes delivered directly to users by third party advertisers under which circumstances they automatically receive your IP address. These third party advertisers may also download cookies to your computer, or use other tracking technologies to measure the effectiveness of their ads and to personalize advertising content. IBTIX has no access to nor can IBTIX control the cookies that may be placed by the third party advertisers. Third party advertisers do not have access to your organizations contact information stored on IBTIX unless you opt to share this with them.

This privacy policy covers the use of cookies used by IBTIX to deliver services to Members and does not cover the use of cookies or other tracking mechanisms used by any advertisers on IBTIX.

IBTIX – Editing, Changing or Removing Information

IBTIX Members can change their organization's profile and privacy settings after they have registered and by using the profile editing tools and Account Settings tools. These changes are effected immediately. Organizations and members wishing to close their IBTIX account may do so by signing in and visiting the Accounts Setting section on their home page.

IBTIX Security

IBTIX takes every reasonable precaution to protect Members' information. Member organization account information is located on a secure server behind a firewall. Email is not recognized as a secure communication and as such we ask that you do not send private information to us by email. Terms of Use, Notices, Revisions and Your Rights

Your use of IBTIX, and any disputes arising from it, is subject to this Privacy Policy as well as our Terms and Conditions of service. IBTIX reserves the right to change our Privacy Policy and our Terms and Conditions of service at any time.
